Human Rights - First Forum of the Inter-American Human Rights System
The IACHR and the Inter-American Court are co-organizing the First Forum of the Inter-American Human Rights System. It will take place at IACHR headquarters in Washington, D.C., on December 4-5, 2017
The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (Court) have organized for the first time an event to generate and promote a debate on the present and future of human rights in the region, the effectiveness of the system, the need for increased levels of compliance with the recommendations of the IACHR and the Court IDH by the Member States, and other key issues on the agenda of human rights in America.
The proposal seeks to create a constructive exchange between all stakeholders. States, civil society, international organizations, universities, social and trade union movements, and the public in general are invited to participate in the event, which will take place at the Commission’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., on 4 and 5 December 2017.
The deadline for registration is November 29 at 11:59pm (E.S.T.).
The IACHR will not incur costs associated with travel or lodging for participation in the Forum. The parallel spaces do not reflect the opinions of the IACHR nor its Commissioners. All events have a maximum number of participants and registration will close once the maximum is reached.
