Cultural network update - United States - Films on the Green Festival in New York
May 29 - July 31, 2015
The 8th edition of the Films on the Green Festival organized by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States, the French-American Cultural Exchange Foundation and the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation opens tomorrow in New York.
As in previous years, 10 films will be screened at sunset every Friday until July 31 in various parks around the city (Central Park, Riverside Park, Washington Square Park, Transmitter Park in Brooklyn, etc.). This outdoor festival has been bringing classic and contemporary French cinema to New Yorkers since 2008. The festival celebrates a different theme every year, from the environment to musicals and literary adaptations.
This new edition will highlight the Mediterranean, with French and French-language films from around the Mediterranean. From the Côte d’Azur to Lebanon, Tunisia and the Algerian coast, the Films on the Green Festival will invite the audience to take a tour around the Mediterranean, kicking off with Roger Vadim’s «And God Created Woman,» which made Brigitte Bardot famous.
