International Day in Support of Victims of Torture (June 26, 2014)
On the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, France reaffirms its commitment to the fight against torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
Thirty years after the entry into force of the UN Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, many states continue to practice or give free rein to torture.
France encourages all states to ratify this text and its optional protocol.
It is more mobilized than ever to put an end to the impunity of the perpetrators of these crimes.
